The simple answer to this is yes. For example a standard bale of Lucerne can weigh anywhere from 18kg to 27kg, that’s a big variance. The EcoBale 300 being visibly smaller than a standard bale can make it difficult to feel that it is of similar weight. We weigh every pallet of hay so we know the average weight per bale. For Lucerne it is 20 kg, Grass and oaten is 18kg and and straw is 15 kg. The bales are priced accordingly so you know you are getting value for money.

No it doesn’t as our press converts the hay from quality big squares rather than compressing. Although the EcoBale 300 is compressed to a certain degree, it is by no means compressed to the same extent as the hay that is produced for export, which some of you may have used before.

A horse requires a minimum of 1 percent of its body mass in roughage per day. So you would need to weigh the hay to determine how much your horse may require. For example a horse that weighs 500kg would need a minimum of 5kg of roughage/hay per day as part of a balanced diet.
